Full Summary[]

As Female Bishop finishes performing first aid on Captain's injured arm, Half-Elf Scout shows off the loot he obtained from stripping the dead rogues of their belongings. To Captain's disappointment, the fairly large haul doesn't contain any magic swords. The two girls laugh at the party's banter as Captain reflects on the situation. His thoughts turn to wondering what's become of their scouting party as Female Warrior returns to say they found the group they were looking for. At their destination Myrmidon Monk is using a healing miracle on the injured, as Captain looks over the warding circle that's clearly been redone multiple times and wouldn't have lasted much longer.

The two girls reunite with their party as the injured party asks who Captain's group is. Female Wizard and Female Bishop tell them that they're with Myrmidon Monk and assures them that Captain's party is there to rescue them. Female Wizard hands out some food and drink to the stranded adventurers, as Captain checks in with Myrmidon Monk to confirm the situation, which isn't good. Myrmidon Monk explains that two of the adventurers are dead, one killed instantly when the chest exploded and the other survived for a time but help was too late. Half-Elf Scout reflects on how nasty it can be when a chest explodes turning it's contents and fragments into weapons and on how important his job is, while Myrmidon Monk continues on to explain that the other four adventurers are badly injured but stable enough that they'll be fine if they can get them to the temple.

As Captain quietly talks with Half-Elf Scout after thinking about the temple and the way Trade God's Nun demands offerings, Female Bishop speaks up to suggest that she use her miracles as well. Captain declines on the basis that they still need to escape the dungeon and will need her powers in reserve in case they encounter monsters. Female Bishop hopes that if they do it won't be goblins, and Captain jokes about not wanting slimes either to tease Female Warrior.

That settled the leader of the girl's party speaks up to thank Captain for going to all the trouble to rescue them. Captain brushes aside the formalities to discuss what they'll need to do next. He explains to her that his party and her party each have 6 people, and the wounded party has four wounded and two dead. Bringing all eighteen out of the dungeon safely will be difficult as such a large party risks being separated by the miasma of the dungeon. His party can't do it all alone, and as such if they're to bring the two corpses out, they'll need to be carried by the girls as they're uninjured and wouldn't be fighting. The girls are unhappy with the idea, but given the choice between helping or leaving behind the dead, they chose to help.

With that settled, Half-Elf Scout confirms they won't be going into any chambers on their way out, and with his skills unneeded takes up the job of dragging one of the corpses, leaving the six girls to handle the other. As they head for the exit, Captain reflects that in a way the two dead are lucky. Most adventurers who die in the dungeon are left behind to be toyed with or eaten by monsters, or join the undead roaming the dungeon.

In the end, they encounter little difficulty escaping the dungeon and bring the wounded and dead to the temple where Trade God's Nun greats them. As she asks the wounded to come to the alter for treatment, she assures the group that none of them are at death's doorstep thanks to the first aid they received. Furthermore she recognizes the party as one that's been generous in their donations so there's no issue there.

With the subject of money raised, Half-Elf Scout speaks up to suggest they deserve a reward. As Female Wizard berates him for his suggestion, he continues on to suggest that there's nothing wrong with one, and that the rookie girls are even more deserving of a reward; to which Female Bishop concurs. The leader of the girls party denies doing anything worthy of a reward. In reponse Captain says that in that case there is nothing wrong with his party accepting a reward if there is one, and as part of that the girls deserve a reward for working with his party to haul the bodies out. With some encouragement from Female Bishop, the girls party is willing to accept a reward from Captain's party. Captain goes on to give the leader of the wounded party the coins from the exploded chest which he'd had Half-Elf Scout gather up, reasoning that they'd need to pay for treatment and bury the dead and even a little extra money would help in that.

Captain's party teases him about going to all this effort to foist a reward on the girls, as Trade God's Nun approves of his and his party's attitude. As they leave the temple, the girls party thanks them and hopes to eventually go on an adventure with them sometime.
