This is the sixth chapter of the Goblin Slayer Side Story II: Dai Katana manga.

Full Summary[]

After a minute of everyone taking in the entrance, Myrmidon Monk gets things moving like they planned. Captain, Female Warrior, and Myrmidon Monk in the front row. Half-Elf Scout watching their backs from the back row with Female Wizard and Female Bishop. Captain reflect that it's good to have someone experienced along. He then selects Female Wizard to be in charge of the back row, while Myrmidon Monk reminds Half-Elf Scout that his job will include opening the treasure chests along with scouting. Myrmidon Monk then informs them that they'll need to keep track of each other at all times as space in the dungeon doesn't follow natural law. One moment the hallway barely will seem barely wide enough for three to walk abreast, and the next it'll feel big enough to fit a dragon. Captain acknowledges that he's heard of this, and it's why adventuring parties rarely see each other in the dungeon and why the army's invasion failed. Letting your guard down can rapidly lead to the party being split by this.

As Female Warrior teases Captain and Female Wizard wants to get a move on, Female Bishop says to wait as they'll need to make a map so they can get back out and where they're going. She also confirms that since this is the party's first time in the dungeon, that the plan is to only go as far as the first chamber, get the loot, then leave. Captain confirms that's the plan, then Myrmidon Monk brings the subject back to maps. He has maps from prior expeditions drawn by himself. The party is suitably impressed. Female Bishop proves able to read the maps by feeling the difference between the paper and the ink, at which point Captain puts her in charge of mapping. Myrmidon Monk approves saying he'll be busy up front and a party can't have too many mappers. Female Bishop promises to do her best as Myrmidon Monk helps her get started. With everyone ready, they enter the dungeon and start making their way through the dark hallway. As the group pauses to make sure everyone is together, Female Wizard asks Myrmidon Monk what kind of monsters to expect in these chambers. He replies that it's every kind of monster, but on the first floor small humanoids are common, even some who look like adventurers. Female Warrior says that she doesn't know about ones that "look like" adventurers, but that there are thieves and they should run if they encounter them.

The party moves on and arrives at the first chamber door. After a brief discussion to brace themselves, Captain kicks the door open. The party charges in to find small humanoid monsters. As Female Bishop freezes up and the party begins cutting down the enemy, Captain realizes they're facing goblins.
