This is the eighth chapter of the Goblin Slayer Side Story II: Dai Katana manga.
Full Summary[]
As they face off with the blobs and the newcomers wonder what they are, Myrmidon Monk informs them that those are slimes. Female Wizard and Female Bishop start to consider what magic to use on them, but Captain tells them not to do anything for now. Magic is their trump card should their blades fail. Captain, Female Warrior, and Myrmidon Monk approach to fight them as the monk warns that slimes are poisonous and can eat away at weapons. The slimes prove easily destroyed and soon the battle is over. As they turned into a splattered mess, it's difficult to count how many went down. Myrmidon Monk estimates four or five and asks if anyone counted, to which Female Bishop says she thought she heard six of them crawling towards the group. Captain concurs that he thought there were six as well, but with no signs of movement the group starts to relax thinking they're done. Only for the final slime to fall from the ceiling onto Female Warrior's head and begin drowning her. The party struggles to help her, with the slime being too slippery to pull off her and unable to find an effective place to stab it. Female Wizard thinks of a plan and tells Female Bishop, who rushes forward and says inflammarae three time to use fire to drive the slime out of Female Warrior's throat and off of her, enabling Half-Elf Scout to finish it off.
Female Warrior is unconscious and Captain has to squeeze the slime fluid out of her so she can start breathing again. As they wait for her to wake up, Female Wizard and Female Bishop briefly explain what they did. Soon Female Warrior wakes up. Captain attempts to leave caring for her to Female Wizard, but Female Warrior grabs his leg and starts attempting to apologize. Captain in turn takes over offering her water and - like their conversation about Female Bishop - asks her if she's done anything she needs to apologize for. As Female Warrior tries to wash slime residue of her mouth and throat, Captain says that if anyone has something to be sorry for it's him. He starts thinking about how he let his guard down when he saw the exit, a mistake he can't afford as party leader. However Sword Maiden interrupts his recriminations by asking what the two of them are talking about, and asking the rest of the party if either of them have done anything they need to apologize for. To which the other three say no.
With the tension defused, Captain helps Female Warrior walk as they exit the dungeon. As they leave Captain wonders how long they've been down there and reflects on how the journey back seems much worse than the way in. The royal guard from before sees them and notes to herself that they made it, as the party heads down to the city.
