Full Summary[]
Inside a cave, a goblin is killed in front of a trembling young priestess by an adventurer in grimy armor.
Some time earlier, the priestess signs up to be an adventurer and receives her porcelain tag. The receptionist explains the tag indicates her as porcelain-ranked. She adds that adventurers held of one of ten ranks, silver being the highest among those out in the wilderness. A party of four rookie adventurers arrive, and enlist the priestess to go on a goblin slaying quest. The receptionist suggests that they wait for another adventurer, but the excited leader insists they'll be fine.
The priestess worries that they should have made preparations, but the party remains confident. Upon entering the cave, goblins pin down the wizard from behind and stab her in the abdomen. In an attempt to swing his sword, the leader's weapon hits the side of the cave, allowing the goblins to swarm and dismember him. The fighter is able to fend off the goblins, but is unable to do the same against a larger goblin. As the fighter is stripped, pinned down and raped, the priestess repeatedly apologizes as she carries the wounded wizard away. Her healing miracles have no effect on the wizard, and an arrow hits her shoulder immediately after. Before the goblins move toward the priestess, a man clad in armor kills the surrounding goblins. After identifying him as silver-ranked, the priestess asks for his name; in response, the man replies "Goblin Slayer".
