Full Summary[]
As the floating lanterns continue to rise, Priestess recites a prayer to the Earth Mother, while Goblin Slayer and Guild Girl watch from above. Guild Girl, remembering that Goblin Slayer's feats enabled this moment to happen, feels guilty for asking him out before the festival. She acknowledges to herself that she wants him to see and understand something besides goblins, but wonders if he can actually do that.
Before the couple can leave the watchtower, they are attacked by a cloaked assailant. While fighting the attacker and after blocking poisoned daggers, Goblin Slayer realizes someone this skilled could not be a goblin. He is then hit by two black darts, which appear to incapacitate him. After ridiculing Goblin Slayer and kicking his body, he declares that Guild Girl would suffer, only to be fatally stabbed by Goblin Slayer. A distraught Guild Girl then scolds Goblin Slayer for making her think he was dead, which the adventurer apologizes for.
