Full Summary[]
Goblins Slayer and his party at the Guild Tavern have a toast for a safe return from their latest adventure. High Elf Archer notices that Priestess is the only one who seems glum. She is not alone as Wizard Boy appears to look down. The wizard feels ashamed of being caught in the trap before by the goblins, but he says that it's nothing. Both Lizard Priest and Dwarf Shaman get the boy to join in the festivities and celebrate. Wizard Boy though pukes after a sip of Dwarf Shaman's brew. Lizard Priest offers the human a tray of cheese-drenched sausages, but the food sickens Wizard Boy as they remind him of severed fingers.
Priestess is still disappointed in herself of not doing better, but Lizard Priest tells her that is normal. He uses his own ancestors the Nagas who had to crawl out of the swamps before striding upon land. High Elf Archer asks about how the acolyte, which Priestess says that she is being cared for. This is a relief to the elf saying that as long as that girl is alive she has a future.
This causes Wizard Boy to react by saying that it means nothing as the memory of being defeated by goblins will still haunt that girl, just like his older sister. Goblin Slayer hearing this grows curious on the identity of this sister. It is soon revealed that Wizard Boy's sister is Female Wizard, who Goblin Slayer killed after she was poisoned by goblins. Wizard Boy mourns her absence, made only worse by the people at the magic academy who mock her death.
Wizard Boy collapses on the table, leading to Goblin Slayer get up and tell the others to find a room for the boy, putting money down, while he goes to check on something. Priestess suggests he rest as well, but is ignored. Outside the tavern, Goblin Slayer passes by Spearman who tries to greet him, but when he notices the cold air around the adventurer, asks if something is wrong. Goblin Slayer denies anything is wrong, before walking away.
The adventurer then sits at a nearby alley, where he tosses his helmet, clutching his head, crying distraught with the knowledge that Female Wizard was Wizard Boy's sister and his failure to save her.
