— Chapter 67's official description.

Major Events[]

  • Dwarf Shaman trains Wizard Boy as a favor to Goblin Slayer.
  • Goblin Slayer and High Elf Archer head into the tunnels to hunt down more goblins.

Full Summary[]

Dwarf Shaman is asked by Goblin Slayer for a specific task, whilst the latter is having a meal. The dwarf tried to get Goblin Slayer to partake in food and a drink, but he refused politely. Said task that Goblin Slayer wants the dwarf to do is teach Wizard Boy some new magic, though he doubts he can give that they are from different disciplines. Goblin Slayer trusts Dwarf Shaman, seeing him as a most capable spell caster. Taking in the flattery, Dwarf Shaman though is curious to what brought this idea on, only to be answered that Goblin Slayer is a goblin slayer whilst Wizard Boy is an adventurer. The explanation is enough for the dwarf, though he warns that High Elf Archer would have raised hell if given such an explanation. Dwarf Shaman regardless will take the task to train Wizard Boy, though wonders if the latter is up to it but it is of course up to fate.

Outside, Wizard Boy is greeted by Goblin Slayer, curious if the latter is going out goblin hunting. Goblin Slayer states that he will be, as soon as he hands over Wizard Boy to someone else. Wizard Boy is annoyed by this as he never asked to be looked after, and wonders how anyone can stand Goblin Slayer. Dwarf Shaman appears, happy to see that the young spell caster came. Goblin Slayer then gives Wizard Boy to the dwarf for training.

Although the human spellcaster does not want to be taught, Dwarf Shaman starts by asking him what kind of spells he can cast and how many times he can cast them. Sadly, Wizard Boy admits he only knows Fireball and can only use it once. The dwarf in his blunt manner slams his fist on Wizard Boy for such poor abilities, calling him an idiot. Dwarf Shaman reveals that Fireball is not just his only spell that he has access to, but a variety of fire-based ones and that Fireball is merely just a form of magic channeling into a powerful burst. In total, Wizard Boy realized that he can actually cast four fire-based spells. Dwarf Shaman states while the spells are weak, they give Wizard Boy a greater variety of options. However, the dwarf explains that its how the person uses the spells and their skillfulness is what matters.

Elsewhere, High Elf Archer and Goblin Slayer are investigating a tunnel. The elf complains about being drenched in filth, to which Goblin Slayer states its necessary as goblins are sensitive towards elves. High Elf Archer had run out of money for herbs to mask her scent, to which the human advises her to manage her finances better.

Goblin Slayer finds a symbol, but notes it's not like the Goblin Paladin's symbol, meaning it's just a ordinary totem. He deduces that it may be from a shaman and that there are fewer than twenty goblins ahead. Despite the number High Elf Archer believes they can manage. Before heading into a possible battle, High Elf Archer takes out some elven pastries to fill their bellies.

The pair then ambush a group of goblins digging. Goblin Slayer bashes them with the hilts of a pair of sword, while High Elf Archer shoots them with her arrows. Goblin Slayer then kills the last goblin, with nearby blade of a shovel.
