Full Summary[]

Goblin Slayer after killing an adult goblin, turns his attention to a small child goblin. It immediately grovels on the ground, begging to be spared, though Goblin Slayer suspects it could be one of the goblins that escaped from the Mausoleum. He proceeds to beat it down, but it continues to grovel. Given that the goblin was at the rear of the group, Goblin Slayer suspects it might be someone important.

High Elf Archer soon catches up motioning to Goblin Slayer to look at its neck. On it, is a necklace adorned with severed fingers. The goblin begins to cry, but the adventurer is resolute and shows no mercy as he slits the goblin's throat. It proved to be prudent as the goblin was feigning tears, to buy time to reach for a dagger behind its back.

Elsewhere, Priestess is seen above ground with Lizard Priest at a construction site, the former commenting to the lizardman that this is the first time its just two of them. The two spell-casters have been busy assisting the laborers at the site, exhausting their healing magic to heal the workers from injuries.

After all the miracles they expended, Lizard Priest is feeling hungry and wants to look for something to eat. The two find it a pity that their faith cannot produce food, but are still satisfied that they made a difference with their powers.

Priestess then proceeds to take out a bundle containing her lunch: wheat bread, fresh cheese, dried fruits, and water-downed wine. The quantity of food causes Lizard Priest to ask if that will be enough for the human, to which the human bashfully admits that she has been gaining some pounds lately due to the good food in town. The lizardman suggest that the weight comes from building muscle, which is what Priestess' other female colleagues said.

Lizard Priest takes out his lunch bundle, composed of a sandwich filled with grilled beef and plenty of cheese. He takes a big bite out of the sandwich and relishes the taste of the cheese. Priestess curious asks what kind of food did Lizard Priest eat in his homeland. The lizardman explains that his people were warriors and hunters, so they consumed birds or beasts that could be hunted. Normally, they eat with their own social groups and on the floor. The only exception was during grand banquets on a day of a great victory.

Priestess thinks such times were festive. When Lizard Priest states that his people ate corn and potatoes, the human tells the lizardman such items go well with cheese, causing him to be excited and want to hear more. In response, Priestess then tells him of a dish she made using those ingredients when she was at the Temple, and shared it together with the other initiates. She suggests that they make it together one day.

They are soon joined by Rhea Fighter, interested in Lizard Priest's sandwich, but he is unwilling to share. The rhea brings out her own lunch instead, pancakes and honey. While she enjoys her pancakes, Priestess comments on her appetite, which the rhea explains that her kind eat five or six times a day. Lizard Priest comments that the novice adventurer is not on a team, which the rhea states that she is still undecided, but feels that no one wants her. This makes Priestess reflect on where she would be if she had not met with Goblin Slayer.

Priestess then offers to have Rhea Fighter to go on an adventure together. Rhea Fighter asks about Goblin Slayer, since he is not present, but guesses that Priestess is just asking to look for other adventurers to join them in the short-term. Rhea Fighters considers the offer, confessing that she might not have the strength Priestess is looking for, but Lizard Priest points out that the girl seems to have great luck. Hearing this praise, causes the rhea to blush and accept to join the team one day. After finishing her meal, Rhea Fighter goes to the other rookie adventurers to help recruit more people, which Priestess decides to go along to help.

Lizard Priest is left behind, smiling at the turn of events, finding fate to be a virtue, wondering if Goblin Slayer's ability is to draw members of this party to the eccentrics.
