At the training center, Goblin Slayer instructs the rookie adventurers on how to operate at night when there are few sources of light. He is about to teach them how to kill a goblin in silence, when a scream erupts in the distance. The noise confuses the rookies and Goblin Slayer sensing something amiss orders them to form a defensive line around the spellcasters. The rookies realizing that this is not a drill, hastily prepare themselves. At first they start slow but quicken themselves at Wizard Boy's urgings to follow the directions.
Goblin Slayer gives the rookies orders to protect the spellcasters at all cost. However, he himself is unsure what to do at this point, as he wants to find out what's going on, but knows he can't just leave his juniors behind. Still, he knows it would be stupid to neglect a chance to obtain information on what's going on. Thus he tells Young Warrior to hold the line until he returns. If he does not then it would be he is dead and they are on their own.
The rookies promise not to let him down as Goblin Slayer hurries away. En-route to the scream he finds a goblin and kills it immediately. Three more goblins are about, and he discovered a headless corpse. They attack him, but the adventurer manages to overpower and kill them. He deduces that the goblins dug a tunnel into the training center and wonders why they would attack such a place. But guesses it's just their nature to be savage killers and has a brief memory of his village as the training center. The adventurer though pushes the memory as there is no running from what happened in the past, as now he is different as Goblin Slayer.
Priestess soon emerges from an alley, greeting her friend, having come out after resting in her room. She spots the corpse and offers it a small prayer. The girl instantly recognizes that they are in a serious situation with goblins. The spell caster having recovered can now use her usual three miracles. Goblin Slayer asks about the rest of their colleagues, which Priestess answers that they are somewhere. The male adventurer then has Priestess accompany him in order to hunt down the goblins in the area.
