Rock Eaters (岩喰怪虫 (ロックイーター) , Rokkuītā) are large monsters inhabiting underground areas that consume rocks, gems, and occasionally people. One Rock Eater was confronted by numerous adventurers in an abandoned mine.

Overview

Rock Eaters rely on vibrations to locate prey before digging out of the walls underground to attack. They have a hard thick shell that makes them very resistant to physical and magical attacks, making it necessary to deal attacks to the mouth, feet, between its plates, or to the eye to damage it. Fortunately, their mouths seemed very sensitive to pain, as a single sword thrust into one's maw was enough to make it stop in its tracks and recoil.

Even an enchanted blow from Heavy Warrior's large sword is hardly enough to break through a Rock Eater's shell

Appearance

The appearance of a Rock Eater is comparable to a large many-legged insect, which results in frequent confusion between them and giant centipedes. A single eye is located above the largemouth that sports numerous rows of massive teeth.
