Full Summary[]
In a village, a young girl sneaks out of the temple to meet the adventurer about to arrive. Soon after they go back to the temple, the head nun scolds her for sneaking out and smacks her head. Still, the adventurer credits her for leading him here, which leads the nun to admit she is happy the girl is still lively even after being orphaned. The adventurer informs her no one else would be coming, before asking where the goblins were.
After asking the villagers, the adventurer figures the goblins attacking the village were a group of wanderers with no nest. He directs the villagers to start the harvest early, so that the goblins will have less time to get livestock and the village girls. The adventurer also instructs them to raise the water levels of the river enough to drown a child. Thinking of what a goblin would resent, he tells the villagers to have a festival; they would let the goblins do as they please for now, but the adventurer promises things will be different the following night. Back at the farm, Cow Girl was busy cleaning the shack the adventurer sleeps in, but is distracted by the thought that she could do nothing for her friend. She resumes scrubbing the floor, but she lets out tears.
As the adventurer was constructing pikes, the young girl, curious of what he was doing, asks him several questions, but runs off after seeing the nun looking for her. The adventurer asks the nun to clean up the fence and pikes after the quest is finished, since he can't guarantee his own survival. At the same time, a goblin scout spies on the village from nearby woods.
At the Adventurer's Guild, Guild Girl announces that the Guild is now accepting any adventurer who wants to join the rock eater slaying quest. She is momentarily upset over the fact that an adventurer died on the quest she wrote up, but pulls herself together with the help of of her senior co-worker. Not long after, the young warrior who lost a party member to the rock eater asks to join in on the quest. Guild Girl is worried over the fact that he is going solo, but Heavy Warrior volunteers to take him in as a temporary party member. With that, Guild Girl wishes the young warrior a happy hunting.
