Arc Mage manages to form the mist into a six-hundred sided polychoron, allowing her and Goblin Slayer to venture further. Referring to the flood Goblin Slayer created, Arc Mage lectures him to plan more carefully with such a high-risk solution; Goblin Slayer himself notes that the method was not very flexible. Upon reaching the landing of the staircase, Arc Mage pushes open a large door to an environment that turned out to be Arc Mage's destination. She apologizes to Goblin Slayer for dragging him into her own story, but Goblin Slayer states it wasn't a problem, citing the story as a goblin-slaying one. Arc Mage tells Goblin Slayer of a myth where a giant who spent ages draining a lake with a seashell; he managed to find treasure after succeeding, which is why Arc Mage wouldn't mock Goblin Slayer for his fixation on goblin slaying. She elaborates that Goblin Slayer's knowledge was a spark; when asked if she had one herself, she remarks that she was going to discover that herself. Arc Mage then gives Goblin Slayer her ring before finally leaving through the door.
With the ring's spark gone, leaving it an ordinary Breath ring, Goblin Slayer uses it to escape the flooded tower with ease. After escaping, Goblin Slayer notes the complete absence of the goblins, and doubts that he would ever see Arc Mage again.
While heading back to the farm after getting the rest of the reward from the guild, Goblin Slayer speculates that what Arc Mage wanted was to see what was outside the world, or even become one of the players in the heavens. He promptly shakes off any further thought, reasoning that whatever Arc Mage accomplished was her business alone, and he had no place to judge it; but what he does conclude with certainty is that Arc Mage succeeded.
