Full Summary[]
While doing her usual routine around the farm, the cows suddenly become agitated; right as she begins tending to the cows, Cow Girl is caught off guard by a short yet violent earthquake. Fortunately, the farm and the house are able to remain intact, with the only damage appearing to be a collapsed portion of the stone wall Goblin Slayer built. Cow Girl is then called over to the fence by a dwarf, who hands her a gold coin in exchange for provisions. She ties up her hair and goes to meet up with her uncle, noting the cows, her hair, and the absence of Goblin Slayer as variations in an otherwise constant routine.
Elsewhere, Goblin Slayer performs reconnaissance against a group of goblins hiding in an abandoned shed used for harvesting peat; the villagers who hired him had chased them out to that location, but were too afraid to engage further conflict. Goblin Slayer had considered using fire, but he ruled it out due to the unknown flammability of the peat and the wind blowing in the wrong direction. He takes notice of a particular goblin pretending to be him, and figures that he could have been detected arriving at the village. Goblin Slayer counts four goblins total, and he charges in to dispatch them.
